Skills	To oversee and manage the development and design of a successful student guidance/ career counselling system in the Emirate that will guide students in making informed academic/ career decisions, improve student welfare, promote Higher Education amongst nationals and encourage females to join the workforce.  Manage the development of policies, guidelines, standards and regulations for student guidance in coordination with the Policy Specialist (Higher Education); ensure that they are aligned to the overall objectives of the Higher Education Strategic Plan and enable provision of both psychological and social support to students;  Collaborate with relevant external entities to ensure that the student guidance systems lay additional emphasis on promoting Higher Education among nationals, encouraging them to take posts in the private sector and encouraging female graduates to enter the workforce;  Oversee the development and maintenance of a student guidance system to facilitate prospective students in identifying suitable degrees for their chosen career path based on varying interests and talents; Contribute to the establishment and maintenance of specialised career guidance and counseling centers that enlighten students to available career opportunities in line with their academic background, aspirations and skills; Oversee the provision of support to students on various welfare issues (including health and other social/ psychological/ personal problems affecting students’ learning) thereby contributing in a positive way to student retention and satisfaction;  Manage the coordination with Labour Market Intelligence Section to ensure that students (both in secondary & Higher Education have updated information of labour market needs, thereby, assisting them in making informed academic/ career choices;  Liaise with various Public & Private Sector Organisations and other Labour Market Institutions in the Emirate to deliver career guidance and induction sessions that provide detailed information on possible career paths for students
